Gold Rush (1925)
Introduction to site;
www.hammerandchisel.org" is a semi-academical and semi-social website which aims to share personal publications and lecture notes concerning mining, rock mechanics and rock cutting mechanics and also to share travel notes from different locations of the world visited by the webmaster who is in this case Serdar Yaşar.
As being a mining engineer, I have been always affected from the mankind's effort for minerals and rocks and also from evolution of excavation methods for mining and tunnelling from fire-setting to mechanical full-face rock excavation. Hammer and chisel is the unarguable universal symbol of the miners, so name of the website was selected due to this reason.
As a concluding remark to this introduction, I salute the miners all-around the world who lived in the past and living now.
I hope visitors enjoy the website, Glück auf.
